THE BUSINESS
Our client is looking for a motivated and experienced Finance Manager to join their team based on Teesside.
As a finance manager you will be responsible for managing a team, on both pre-contract and during the construction phase of the works.
THE ROLE
The job role of a finance manager includes the following duties:
Produce and continually develop financial management reports and information as required by Senior Management and all budget holders, helping clearly identify the risks relating to financial sustainability.
Manage the daily operations of the finance department including maintaining the general ledger, purchase and sales ledgers and treasury function.
Lead the preparation of the Annual Revenue and Capital Budgets, financial reconciliations and production of long-term forecasts.
Preparing of the annual statutory reports and accounts, ensuring clear audit reports
Manage 3rd party accountancy firms
Responsible for banking and treasury management.
Lead and Co-ordinate the procurement of services, ensuring value for money adherence to financial requisitions
and managing public money rules.
Be responsible for the finance system and ensure that business processes maximise efficiency.
Lead the development of project costing and other costing modules for use withing planning including support services,
trend analysis and risk identification/mitigations.
Oversee the monitoring of budgets including budget reconciliations to assist in the early identification of variances
and accurate forecasting of outturn.
Review on a monthly basis reconciliations of certain control accounts including all salary and paye/nic control
accounts etc.
Build and develop a highly capable team able to operate the core financial activities of the business

Work autonomously, and within a small team, by leading on cost planning and control of projects, whilst having
the ability to make ultimate decisions on the financial management of projects.
To undertake all aspects of cost planning and analysis, life cycle costing and budgetary control.
Providing cost advice at inception and feasibility stages of projects and when bidding for funding from external sources.
To liaise with both internal and external clients dealing with queries and requests for information, as well as providing
advice necessary to control costs and to maintain profitability for all projects.
Receive working drawings and specifications before leading in the preparation of tender documents including
schedules & bills of quantities, to meet client requirements,
Ensuring that costs are kept within the approved cost plan and budget.
To analyse tenders and prepare reports for acceptance.
To ensure that all activities are operated in accordance with legislation and Best Practice.
QUALIFICATIONS
Our clients brief requirements are:
Minimum of 10+ years experience in finance/commercial roles.
Diploma or degree in either Finance or a Commercial discipline (or equivalent experience)
