With a career spanning over 35 years, Maureen’s recruitment journey began in Birmingham, where she worked for both National and Independent Consultancies across various market sectors. In 1990, she returned to her native North East and set up Westray Recruitment Consultants. Her drive was to build a brand that provided a more boutique approach to recruitment and something that was quite different from what was considered to be the "normal" high street agencies of the time. This approach and vision is still a major focus of the business today and is something that is shared and delivered by the whole of the Westray team. Whilst having an exceptional group of people working for her, Maureen remains very “hands on” on a day to day basis, ensuring exceptional service delivery to both clients and candidates alike, remains top of the Westray agenda.

Having joined the business in 1995, Steven progressed through the business to become Finance Director in 2009. Bringing over 20 years worth of experience to the senior management team, Steven ensures the business is fully compliant from a Legal, HR, and Financial point of view, and also oversees the Finance and Accounts department.He successfully manages and develops the Finance and Operations functions, to deliver timely solutions for our clients, staff and the organisation as a whole.

The daughter of our MD, Ashleigh has literally been with the business since birth and has recruitment in her DNA. Having undertaken almost every role within recruitment consultancy, she is now part of the senior management team and oversees all aspects of business development for the company, with responsibility for identifying new business opportunities and markets. Ashleigh is an avid networker and is an active member of both the Institute of Directors and the Entrepreneurs Forum.
