The business
Our client is a leading specialist in electrical and digital infrastructure, providing innovative and sustainable solutions for buildings and commercial environments.
Due to continued demand and the needs of their manufacturing operation in Cramlington, they are looking to appoint a Production Operative to join their established production team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing business where you will play an important role in the production and assembly of mechanical and electrical products.
The Role
As a Production Operative, you will support the manufacturing process by producing, assembling and packaging mechanical and electrical goods.
Working as part of a team and under supervision, your responsibilities will include:
Assembling electrical goods and components in line with required procedures
Carrying out hand assembly using handheld tools
PCB assembly
Performing hand soldering of through-hole components in accordance with the bill of materials
Assembling finished products
Testing finished products
Operating machinery, including metal press equipment where required
Working closely with colleagues on production lines to achieve daily targets
Carrying out quality checks on completed goods
Completing relevant production and work documentation
Following all health and safety procedures and guidelines
Maintaining high standards of quality and attention to detail
Supporting colleagues and contributing positively to the production team
Following company values, procedures and standards at all times
The Person
The successful candidate will ideally have:
Previous experience within a production or manufacturing environment
Good attention to detail
Strong concentration skills
A practical, hands-on approach to work
The ability to work effectively as part of a team
A willingness to help and support colleagues
The ability to listen to instructions and follow processes step-by-step
A methodical approach to completing tasks
The ability to work efficiently and at pace to meet production targets
A strong commitment to health and safety
No specific qualifications or educational background are required
Previous experience in assembly, soldering, PCB work, machinery operation or a similar manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
