If so, please read on…. We have an entry level role for a Trainee H&S Officer to operate on a temp to perm basis for our client based in the Washington area.

You will work for an organisation who holds permanent residency within the complex of a true automotive giant famed within our region.

You will be based on the site itself. This organisation delivers a range of site services.

This role will suit someone who has recently gained experience within Health & Safety or is looking to break into Health & Safety.

Although not by any means a pre-requisite, applicants who hold their NEBOSH/IOSH will be preferred.

However, the main skillset you need to possess is excellent writing and communicative skills.

If you have drive, ambition and a thirst for learning, the rest can be taught and you will part of a supportive and collaborative culture to facilitate this.

The role is to focus on permit writing, creating Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMs) and producing documents for Tool Box Talks (TBT), as well as delivering them.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING IN YOUR ROLE?

  • Writing and issuing permits to work
  • Writing Risk Assessment & Method Statements
  • Producing documentation for Tool Box Talks
  • Delivering Tool Box Talks
  • Keeping up to date with, researching and implementing HSE legislation changes

WHAT EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION?

  • Ideally a recent graduate in any discipline (negotiable)
  • Ideally a recognised H&S qualification, NEBOSH and IOSH Preferred (negotiable)
  • Strong report writing skills (non-negotiable)
  • High degree of IT Literacy (non-negotiable)
  • An academic mind set (non-negotiable)
  • Strong eye for detail (non-negotiable)
  • Strong communication skills (non-negotiable)
  • A willingness to learn with drive and ambition (non-negotiable)

WHAT ARE THE FINER DETAILS OF YOUR ROLE?

This is an ongoing role with the aim of transferring from temporary to permanent status.

WHAT SALARY PACKAGE YOU WILL BE RECEIVING

Weekday working is paid at £12.27 per hour and Weekend working is paid at £13.56 per hour or approximately circa £26K per annum
