Three of our permanent roles are for experienced Mixers and two are for trainee Mixers within the Production Team. As a Mixer you will be given access to world class training in order to develop your competency to operate machines and equipment that automatically mixes ingredients to make straight and sponge doughs according to a secret formula.

It is essential that you are physically fit, as this role entails undertaking some manual lifting of heavy loads.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING IN YOUR ROLE?

  • Move controls and valves in order to adjust metering devices that weigh, measure, sift, and convey water, flour, and shortening into mixer, and that measure and dump yeast, sugar, salt, and other ingredients into mixing machine.
  • Weight up ingredients and follow mixing instruction as per recipe sheet.
  • Ensure handover procedure is followed with oncoming/outgoing mixing operators by being in pre-batch area 10 minutes prior to start of shift.
  • Conduct physical check on raw materials to ensure they conform to specificity standards (report to Line Manager if not)
  • To use raw materials in strict rotation.
  • To select correct batch sheets and follow correct mixing procedures.
  • Ensure boil settings are correctly adhered to.
  • To follow Systems correctly.
  • Follow traceability procedures / Remove all plastic from pallets and dispose using correct procedure. Leaving tickets on product.
  • Check dough for desired consistency against specifications.
  • Accordingly record number of batches mixed on correct documentation.
  • Weigh and measure ingredients which are manually fed into mixer.
  • Maintain the set hygiene standards and ensure clean as you go procedure is followed at all times.
  • Follow nut handling/gluten free and all other company procedures accurately.
  • Ensure plant runs at all times by monitoring dough feeder level / Monitor weights and line 2 sheet density.
  • Follow manual handling guidelines and safe systems of work at all times.
  • Ensure correct PPE is worn at all times.
  • Fill in relevant documentation in accurate and timely manner i.e. weigh station forms, boil sheets etc.
  • At all times correct sieving procedures must be followed

WHAT EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION?

Essential:

  • Right to work in United Kingdom
  • Good verbal and written English communication.
  • Good numeracy skills
  • Manual Handling

Desirable:

  • Product Knowledge
  • Food manufacturing experience
  • Level 2 Health and Safety
  • Level 2 Food Safety

WHAT ARE THE FINER DETAILS OF YOUR ROLE?

This is a permanent night shift role where you will be required to work a total of 36 hours per week, comprising of 3 x 12-hour shifts.

You will work Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday one week and then the following week you will work Thursday, Friday & Saturday.

You will not work on a Sunday.

This role provides an incredible work life balance as you will have up to 7 days rest between rotations every three weeks.

WHAT SALARY PACKAGE YOU WILL BE RECEIVING

For a skilled worker this role commences on £10 per hour, rising to £10.50 with completion of training.

A trainee level candidate will be paid £9.44 per hour.
