Candidate 2 - Consultant Assessment


Candidate 2 is an experienced Software Engineering Leader who boasts skills with embedded C and a very strong background in electronic engineering. He is a highly skilled and versatile individual with extensive knowledge of embedded system development, both software and hardware. Currently, Candidate 2 is working for an Electronics Manufacturer but feels that he has plateaued and can no longer progress in the role.

Candidate 2 has a proven track record of product and prototype development. He is educated to Master’s degree level and is a very well respected hands on leader and team player who has continually developed his skills and risen to all challenges. He has led teams ranging from 1 person to a team of 8, he has a very pragmatic approach to management and enjoys being hands on and getting involved with project work. Currently, he works on delivering projects to medical, science, automotive and industrial clients, he works to a bespoke software methodology and focusses on providing excellent quality and identifying and minimising potential risks. He has developed excellent skills and experience in (but not limited to) C, GNU GCC C, Python, C++, assembly language, Visual C, Visual Basic, Pascal and Ada.

Throughout his career, he has managed engineers within a software, hardware, design and mechanical capacity and is versed at generating daily schedules, getting involved with recruitment, conducting disciplinaries and communicating with various internal and external parties to ensure projects are running in line with client requirements. He is highly adaptable to new environments and relishes a challenge.

Upon interviewing Candidate 2, he came across very professional and confident in his software programming abilities. It is clear that he’s constantly looking to improve his skills and identify and work with new technologies. He is currently earning £45,000 and would ideally be looking for a salary of £50,000 depending on location and company, he lives in Rowlands Gill near Gateshead and is happy to commute to areas within a 20-30 mile region.
