Management Team

We always like to see who it is we’re talking to. We know that you’ll speak to lots of people every week without knowing who they are or what they look like. Well, we’ve taken that into consideration, so this is the place where you find out everything you need to know about the key members of our team.

Sandra Douglas

Business Development Manager

LinkedIn QR Code Sandra brings a wealth of experience to her role at Westray Recruitment Consultants. On leaving school having gained her O Levels (that’s GCSE’s in old money) she soon found her niche in sales. After 8 years with a local soft drinks manufacturer selling to the licensed trade, she ...

secured a field sales role with a major newspaper publisher. Although happy in this role, after 10 years of selling advertising, Sandra decided that a career change was just what the doctor ordered and celebrated the new millennium by joining us in January 2000, as a Business Development Executive. Service and sales focussed; eleven years later she still thrives on the buzz of securing a new contract and is a key member of our sales and marketing team. In her spare time (believe it or not she does have time to herself) she enjoys cheering on Jenson Button in F1, rustling up new dishes in the kitchen and globetrotting. It was the latter which led to her affection for elephants whilst visiting Sri Lanka. Busy girl is our Sandra!

Paul Thompson

Commercial Division Manager

LinkedIn QR Code Rarely seen without a smile on his face, Paul brings with him a diverse range of skills to Westray Recruitment Consultants. Paul gained hero status in the eyes of many, having served 7 years in the British Army, trying to better the lives of those in war-torn Middle Eastern countries. ...

On leaving the army, Paul then went on to work for an advertising agency before pursuing a career in recruitment when he joined us in 2007 to oversee the management and development of our Commercial Division. An extremely focussed and ambitious individual, he is currently working towards achieving an MBA to further develop his business skills.

Outside of the ‘million-miles-per-hour’ recruitment world Paul is a keen golfer and with a little more practice, he plans to get himself on the European Ryder Cup team. When not on the course, Paul enjoys photography and experimenting with Photoshop to make those snaps a little bit different. In addition to his love of creativity, Paul is something of a whizz-kid on the guitar, which makes him the ideal companion to have around the campfire!

Glen Forster

Industrial Contracts Manager

LinkedIn QR Code You’ll struggle to find anyone who puts in more hours into the business than Glen. When asked when he last went to bed, he said it was sometime in November 2002 – just before he joined Westray Recruitment Consultants. Since then, he has dedicated himself to serving his clients across the ...

region. Before joining the Westray revolution, Glen worked for a clothing manufacturer, where he worked his way up the career ladder to become UK Production Manager. When Glen isn’t placing talented and dedicated individuals in new roles, he enjoys a game of football (a rock in centre midfield – or so he claims, we’re yet to see it!) If he isn’t playing football he’ll be talking football with anyone that will listen. In-between all of that, he’s a dedicated family man who, whilst on holiday recently, won the coveted title of ‘The Best Disco Dancing Dad’ (much to his embarrassment)!

Stephen Farrell

Marketing Manager

LinkedIn QR Code Stephen graduated from Northumbria University in 2007 in Business Studies. He joined the company in the summer of 2011 to support the company’s marketing drive. Having spent five years within two marketing teams – Stephen brings a wealth of experience in order to develop ...

the Westray Recruitment Consultants brand. Stephen began life working for a destination marketing agency, to support the drive to bring tourists to our wonderful region. He then joined the biggest regional newspaper publisher in the UK where he led consumer marketing activity. When he isn’t thinking of effective and innovative ways to develop our brand, Stephen is a keen football fan who contributes to fanzines and runs a weekly blog on The Journal’s website. Shamelessly, he is a fan of WWE which provides the office with much ribbing material. His journey into work mainly consists of listening to the musings of Karl Pilkington – although this isn’t a reflection on Stephen’s mentality. Honest!
